Florida Hospital Orlando seeks to hire Sports Medicine Team Manager who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.
Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,107-bed Florida Hospital Orlando, serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. Florida Hospital Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year.
Florida Hospital Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation – Adanson offers physical, occupational and speech therapy and specializes in treating adolescent, adult and elderly patients for orthopedic and sports medicine injuries as well as neurological diagnoses. Other specialty programs include neuromuscular reeducation, massage therapy and a medical fitness program that is supervised by an exercise physiologist. Our highly skilled team, including several Neuro-IFRAH certified therapists, work together to deliver excellent care.
Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm (some late hours and weekends for events)
Facilitates staff development by re-evaluating performance, coaching and counseling staff. Follows employee progressive discipline procedures.
Manages athletic training outreach team.
Establishes, builds and maintains strategic relationships between employees, physicians, their office staff, hospital administration, athletic trainers, athletic directors, athletes and their parents and corporate partners.
Promotes and markets Florida Hospital programs and services to the above audiences.
Oversees the activation of specific Florida Hospital Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation sports contracts, agreements and relationships, and all outreach activities.
Ensures that the staff adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan, policies and procedures and to the rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Basic computer skills to include Outlook, Microsoft Office and Windows (preferred)
Entry level professional competency of Athletic Training theory, principles and applications (preferred)
5 years' health care or athletic training experience (preferred)
MBA or MHA (preferred)
Supervisory/administrative experience (preferred)
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
Licensed in the State of Florida as a Certified Athletic Trainer

Acts as a liaison between FHRSM and other hospital staff, physicians, patients, patient families, and community/partners in order to investigate, respond and to resolve complaints. Assist with the development, distribution and communication of key information as directed by hospital administration.
Systematically provides staff with feedback regarding their performance, counsels staff as needed, documents counseling sessions, and monitors compliance. Completes staff performance appraisals within established timeframe
Orients new staff to assigned area to familiarize them with area processes, equipment, safety and mission plans as demonstrated by fulfillment of various contracts for FH. Actively participates in the development of staff ATC skills, employee engagement, and customer and partner satisfaction.
Monitors staff and equipment needs, revenue, and expenses. Stays within allocated budget, appropriately manages and reports timely via budget spreadsheet.
Identifies and presents new business opportunities to leadership. Meets proactively with necessary individuals and key decision makers to develop marketing portions of proformas for identified new programs/services.
Implements strategic sports medicine marketing plans and strategies, understands profitability, sets appropriate tracking mechanisms and demonstrates positive ROI. Works with strategically identified physicians to facilitate engagement with FH programs and services as indicated in volume reports.
Gains knowledge of competitor's products and pricing on an on-going basis and shares information.
Works proactively and independently showing initiative and problem-solving skills consulting with administration seeking advice when appropriate for situations outside authority or expertise. Provides timely reports to Administration when requested.
Manages all aspects of the Concussion program including but not limited to physician relations, contractual relationships, program development and clinic operations.
