Maintains buildings and grounds to insure safe comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors. Assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the facility in good repair. Minor maintenance, repairs and other duties are the primary duties. Assists the Maintenance Department with plumbing, electrical and HVAC maintenance. Participates in performance improvement activities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Service Department
Assists in maintaining HVAC controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas.
Performs urgent, corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of minor problems with the electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems as required. Notifies DOP if major repairs are required.
Performs maintenance on equipment and systems as required.
Performs maintenance duties to all physical structures of facility and complies with all building safety codes. This is to include facility equipment and associated controls.
Assists in replacing, repairing and testing electrical circuits, equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required.
Maintains routine records of all inspections, maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system.
Performs manual duties as requested (i.e., moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, removing trash or scrap material).
Ability to do work on his/her own with only minimal supervision.
A working knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems.
A thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain plant tools and equipment.
Knowledge and observance of safety precautions.
Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
Documents the preventative maintenance program for fire extinguisher, sprinkler, equipment safety inspections etc.
Orchestrates and maintains the work order system. Prioritize, plan, supervise, and inspect repairs to insure they are completed in a safe acceptable, timely manner.
Perform housekeeping duties as needed
Police the parking lots and grounds.
Other duties as assigned.
