UWMC Radiology - East Side Imaging has an outstanding opportunity for a full time day shift MRI TECHNOLOGIST.The MRI Technologist prepares patients for examinations, explains the procedure and answers patients questions. Screens patients for any contraindication to MRI exam. Reviews patient medical history on exam request, consults physician as necessary to ensure proper exam for each patient.Independently conducts MRI exams through prescribing proper scanning parameters for the most common MRI exams with the assistance of documented or computer prescribed protocols. Determines optimal imaging options for most common MRI exams to minimize artifacts and decrease scan time. Calculate and administer appropriate contrast for exam. Administers contrast under supervision of Radiologist. Post process MRIs if needed.Assures that patients are properly scheduled in Radiology Information System (RIS), and that exams are completed with proper billing. Assures that exam is filmed, archived and sent to PACS properly. Monitors equipment to ensure a diagnostic exam. Troubleshoots and repairs basic system malfunctions. Practices equipment safety policies and procedures. Restocks rooms of all supplies as needed. Performs related duties as required.
