Position responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Instruct through lectures, discussions and demonstrations in one or more courses of the Manufacturing Engineering Technology Program covering all competencies associated with these courses. Possible courses include: Fundamentals of Mechatronics, Introduction to Quality Systems, Robotics and Industrial Automation, Maintaining Industrial Equipment I, Fundamentals of Machine Tool – A, Fundamentals of Machine Tool – B, Metrology and Control Charts, Manual Programming, CAD/CAM/CNC, Lean Operations, Production Management,
Proficient in all processes and technologies used in manufacturing processes. Expertise in metal manufacturing desired including CNC machine set up, operating and programming.
Emphasize safe shop practices through safety instruction on equipment, safety tests and documentation of those actions.
Ensure that all equipment is in safe operating condition and facilitate necessary repairs.
Participate in pathway advisory committee meetings.
Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
Collaborate and communicate with staff to meet the educational needs of students.
Create, administer, and grade tests to evaluate student progress.
Establish and enforce rules and procedures that help to maintain order in the classroom.
Observe, evaluate, and prepare reports on the progress of students.
Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
Observes, enforces and is directed by the policies, rules, and regulations adopted by the College and KCTCS.
Assists with additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
