Chemical Operator (2001851) - Wyandotte, Michigan
The Wyandotte Thermoplastic Polyurethane Technician position is responsible for the following:
Perform all shipping and receiving tasks associated with packaging of finished goods.
Perform fork truck duties.
Operate extruders, Belt lines, feeders, and other equipment associated with the production of TPU.
Demonstrate safe and efficient performance of daily tasks ensuring adherence to all Responsible Care, and site and plant standards.
Operate plant equipment in a manner and condition to safely produce quality product.
Maintain housekeeping at a high level.
Perform equipment, safety, and other required checks in an accurate, neat, and timely manner.
Effectively participate in creation of JSA's, 6S and all lean initiatives.
Contribute to the success of plant goals and objectives through participation on EHS and/or team activities to further advance the qualities of a High-Performance Organization.
Work 12 hour rotating shift.
Overtime work on a voluntary and assigned basis
Contribute to the success of plant goals & objectives through participation in activities to further advance safety, quality, costs, productivity and morale throughout the plant.
The physical effort required to perform this position includes:
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Walking up and down stairs.
Basic equipment cleaning and operation that may require bending and reaching.
Using numerous hand tools.
Occasional overhead work.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You...
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience
Experience using a forklift is preferred
Willingness and ability to adapt to change and cross-train in all areas of the site as needed
Competencies of accountability and ownership
Mechanically inclined and able to complete minor maintenance
Ability to learn and perform a variety of tasks in support of plant operations including training and safety initiatives
Coordination with people and teams within the site and beyond; good team player
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Effective time management and organizational skills to efficiently manage daily activities
Accurately performs basic math
