Business Operations unit enables the Berkeley IT organization to strategically manage our resources, our high priority initiatives, optimize our day-to-day operations, and provide leadership with the metrics and data they need to make informed decisions.Key Functions include Finance, Project and Portfolio Management, Strategic Sourcing, Administrative Support, Building & Equipment Management and Billing.

Responsibilities
- Plans and supervises the daily operational building maintenance activities of the Berkeley IT occupied buildings and spaces.
- Ensures building, grounds, and other maintenance issues in Berkeley IT occupied buildings and spaces are handled promptly and according to established processes.
- Ensures that emergency repairs are handled appropriately.
- Provides or coordinates routine inspection of Berkeley IT occupied facilities and equipment and maintains facility-wide preventative maintenance program.
- Oversees maintenance service contracts and provides ergonomic evaluations for staff in Berkeley IT buildings.
- Establishes regular security inspections and coordinates with firefighting and civil law-enforcement agencies.
- Sets work schedules and project priorities.
- Selects, trains and supervises staff.
- Equipment management to include warehousing and inventory custodian.
- Engages in continuous professional development and training.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of policies and procedures relative to facilities maintenance, equipment, safety and emergency preparedness.
- Working skills in supervising facility maintenance and improvements.
- Working skills in interpersonal communication and motivation of staff.
- Working verbal and written communications skills.
- Working skills in building maintenance work to include one or more of the following: basic plumbing and pipefitting, carpentry, painting and plastering, service of machinery, electrical maintenance, and custodial.
- Welcomes differing views and opinions and is able to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
Salary & Benefits
- This is a full-time (40 hours/week), career position, eligible for full UC benefits.
- This is an exempt, monthly paid position. The annual salary is commensurate with experience within the range of $62,300.00 - $90,700.00.
