OPPORTUNITY
University of Washington Medical Center – ROOSEVELT – Radiology has an outstanding opportunity for a Full-Time, Day Shift, RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST, MRI.
SCHEDULE: Scheduling for this location will be Monday-Friday only, with no weekends and no holidays.
WHAT WILL YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?
Prepare patients for examinations, explain the procedure and answer patient's questions. Screen patients for any contraindication to MRI exam. Review patient medical history on exam request, consult physician as necessary to ensure proper exam for each patient. Prescribe proper scanning parameters for the most common MRI exams with the assistance of documented or computer prescribed protocols. Determines optimal imaging options for most common MRI exams to minimize artifacts and decrease scan time. Post process if needed. Calculate and administer appropriate contrasts for the exam. Administer contrast under supervision of a Radiologist. Assure that patients are properly scheduled in the Radiology Information System (RIS), and exams are completed with proper billing. Assure that exam is filmed, archived and sent to PACS properly. Monitor equipment to ensure a diagnostic exam. Troubleshoot and repair basic system malfunctions. Practice equipment safety policies and procedures. Restock rooms of all supplies as needed. Perform related duties as required.
WHAT’S NEEDED? Satisfactory completion of formal technology training in an AMA-approved school, AND registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR Equivalent education/experience.
WHAT’S DESIRED?
Completion of a 3 month formal clinical/didactic training program in the applicable modality AND 6 months as a Registered Technologist OR 1 year as a Registered Technologist AND completion of advanced course work in the applicable modality.
LICENSE REQUIRED
Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist.
