With the detector construction starting in 2-3 years, the University of Minnesota is working closely with engineers and other key players to develop and document a clear understanding of the logistics involved to safely and efficiently assemble this massive underground project. At CERN, outside Geneva, Switzerland, we are completing the ProtoDUNE2 (6m x 6m x 6m) detector using full sized detector components to fully understand the assembly and integration sequence of the larger detector . The team from NFDL uses full-scale mock-ups to develop and test assembly procedures and safety documents. The DUNE trial assembly structures at NFDL were used to develop safe and efficient assembly procedures. The NFDL crew also takes this knowledge to CERN to install the actual ProtoDUNE detector. The successful candidate will supply oversight and coordination for ProtoDUNE2/DUNE as manager for installation and integration. This includes conducting studies and preparing recommendations on major equipment purchases ($1M +) for the $2B DUNE experiment.
