POSITIONGOALS
Demonstrate and promote a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion
Provide onsite support as required to maintain inventory
Maintains and records computer and related hardware information throughout the College, including collecting and removal of technology equipment and documenting the changes; hands-on participation in computer deployment projects; data removal from computers; cleaning and sanitizing of equipment to be redeployed to the community or sent to surplus; general, periodic equipment cataloging with an asset management focus; maintaining classroom computer equipment and wiring with a focus on peripheral equipment, such as mouse, keyboard, and monitor replacement; printer replacement and maintenance
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
Ability to work directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socio economic backgrounds
Provides onsite support for the OIT department in the maintenance and cataloging of computers, large and small peripherals, including packing and labeling equipment for storage, redeployment, or surplus
Asset tagging and logging of newly deployed devices and equipment, and creating reports
Collecting data and preparing reports as needed to update inventory status on a quarterly basis
Tests and records status of computer equipment and related devices, for storage and redeployment
Catalogs and prepares retired network equipment and devices, including switches, UPS devices, and server parts for surplus or disposal as needed by the network team; preparing status reports on equipment
Catalogs legacy software on media, including CDs, Floppy discs, zip disks and destroys or prepares it it for disposal
Maintains the OIT storage areas, including OIT lockup, LRC basement, and the OIT storage closets in various locations
Assists technicians with the installation of new or lifecycled computer equipment on medium to large deployment projects
Performs routine collection of unused or retired computer equipment and prepares it for surplus or lifecycle reinstallation
Install and configure personal computer hardware and peripheral equipment, including but not limited to monitors, keyboards, and CD/DVD drives, and printers
Assist IT Technicians with performing routine maintenance and repair on computers and peripheral equipment, laptops, mobile devices, printers; network cabling and connected networked devices
Maintain all job-related documentation, including tickets, inventory forms, and request forms
Practice good follow up procedures on assigned projects, tasks and difficult or high-profile situations
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED certification
Current A+ Certification or 1-2 years of work experience in the IT field with a good understanding of computer equipment and functionality preferred but not required
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred
Reliable transportation to navigate to all areas of the College as required, including between campus travel
Understands the concept of confidentiality and maintain it
Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to create and organize inventory documentation for sharing with other departments
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and on independent projects
Ability to use creative and out-of-the box thinking to resolve issues related to computer equipment maintenance, storage and storage space management
Basic knowledge of computer equipment safety, such as handling and testing of computer equipment and parts
Understanding of inventory maintenance in a retail or warehouse environment
